The Blankenship Law Firm is a premier Northwest litigation firm established in 1993, with attorneys practicing in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. The firm’s attorneys have handled a wide spectrum of civil actions, primarily in the areas of employment law, personal injury, class actions, malpractice, commercial litigation, and nursing home negligence. We have successfully litigated against entities of all sizes, including Fortune 100 corporations, and government agencies as large as the United States Navy. Recent verdicts and settlements include the largest EEOC settlement per employee in a sexual harassment case in the Western United States according to the U.S. EEOC (1.72 million), $1.9 million for breach of an executive employment contract, a unanimous jury verdict resulting in a recovery of over $3.9 million for race discrimination, a disability discrimination case for $835,000, and a double damages wage-and-hour class action judgment against a casino in federal court. In 2008 results included the largest single victim discrimination settlement in the Northwest according to Jury Verdicts Northwest ($1.65 million), and a business tort/trade secrets/wrongful discharge case for $1.65 million. In 2005, one of our cases was selected by the National Employment Lawyers Association as one of the five most important cases nationally for employee rights in the last 20 years. Our founding shareholder, Scott Blankenship, was ranked among the top ten employment lawyers in Washington State by Washington CEO magazine. He has also been selected as a “Washington Super Lawyer” for each of the last seven years, and is listed in the top 100 trial lawyers in Washington by ATLA. In September 2009, he was featured in the King County Bar Bulletin. He and the firm have both received the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell’s National Law Directory. Only a small percentage of lawyers achieve an AV rating, the “A” signifying preeminent knowledge of the law and ability, and the “V” signifying very high ethics.
